2002 Season Outlook

The Limestone College Women's lacrosse team will look for continued success as they set their sites on the NCAA Tournament. With the toughest schedule in the program's history the Ladysaints will look to take on six top 10 Nationally ranked teams, including the Division II National Champions West Chester University and Co-national champs, Stonehill College.

The Ladysaints bring back five offensive starters from last year's team. Seniors Angie Meyer (All-American), Becky Buppert and Kathy Campbell, as well as Junior Stephanie Allen and Meghan Dennehy. Also making a huge impact in the fall tournament were Pam Gateau, Chrystal Ford and Angela Cunningham.

Defensively the Ladysaints return two starters--Sophomores Angela Tomchik and Michelle Lare. They will look to Bridget Dorsey and Jamie Bennett and Rebecca Butchok to balance out their young defense. In goal the Saints will rely on one of three goalies. Sophomore's Lenora Breiterman and Brandi Daigle and Freshman Meagan DeAlmonst will be fighting for the starting spot.

It will be a challenging season but the Saints are optimistic and hope to be playing their final game of the season in the National Championship.

The Saints open their regular season at home against Guilford on February 27, 2002 at 4:00p.m.
