The second half was close, as Lady Saint Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) scored the period’s first goal. However, the Golden Rams had two goals that the Lady Saints were only able to answer once with four minutes remaining in the game. Limestone had more chances at the end but was unable to finish on several scoring chances, as West Chester scored an insurance goal for the 10-8 victory with a minute-and-a-half remaining.

“We’ve been a comeback team all season,” stated Ferraro. “We played well and it’s a hard loss when it’s that close.”

Limestone’s defensive unit had an outstanding match. Goalkeeper Jackie Weaver (Carthage, N.Y.) made several critical saves to keep her team in the game for a total of 9 saves.

“I was really happy overall with the defense,” said Tucker. “Our defense stepped it up and did a good job.”

The Lady Saints are looking forward to next season, as the experience they gained at the NCAA tournament will give them a solid foundation for the continued success of the lacrosse program at Limestone.

“We’ll have an edge next season since our young team has had this experience,” pointed out Tucker. “Making it this far has put Limestone College lacrosse on the map.”
